Our experience is that each project is different - in terms of scale
(from small borders to entire garden designs), in terms of scope
(design and/or planting), in terms of time taken (from borders
which need a simple refresh, to gardens planted out in phases
over many years), and in terms of involvement from the client
(some like to be hands-on and participate in the process, others
like to enjoy the final result).
We like to accommodate all different types of projects, which
typically follow this process:
step 1 consultation
We usually begin with an on-site consultation. We will visit you,
walk through your garden with you, listen to what you would
like from your garden, and show you some of our previous work.
We charge a small fee for this consultation - this amount will
be refunded if you choose to commission us.
step 2 estimate
After the initial consultation we report back to you with a
written brief (this describes your ‘wish list’ and a description
of the site) and an estimate. This gives you a clear idea of
the costs and how to proceed next.
step 3 concept plan
We will have measured your garden/border(s) and will have
concluded an on-site analysis and a complete survey to scale.
We will visit you again to show you concept plans (draft plans)
along with sketches and/or pictures to illustrate our ideas.
step 4 final plan
We carry out any tweaking on the concept plans, incorporating
your feedback.
Our final plans can be coloured, or be in black and white, depending
on your requests. Planting plans are accompanied by full plant lists.
step 5 project monitoring
For full garden design projects, if you so wish, we can liaise
with contractors to ensure that the design specifications are met.
step 5 plant ordering
For planting plans, we can provide a competitive plant ordering
service for your convenience.
step 6 setting out and/or planting
We place plants in their correct positions and plant them;
we can also simply position plants only if clients wish to plant
themselves.
